Dr. Kathy Heer and Dr. Debra Tucker are licensed by the Virginia Board of Psychology and hold the designation of Nationally Certified School Psychologist (NCSP).  Dr. Tucker recently retired from the Fairfax County Public School System and Dr. Heer is currently employed by the Arlington County Public School System.  Both have over 30 years of experience in the practice of school psychology.  Dr. Heer and Dr. Tucker have each been honored as "Fairfax County School Psychologist of the Year" from their local professional organization.  Dr. Tucker served as the clinical chair at McLean HS, worked has a clinical supervisor at George Washington University, and presented workshops for the Psychological Corporation.   Dr. Heer currently serves as the school psychologist and behavioral specialist in Arlington County.  She has presented at national conferences and has supervised interns and practicum students from several universities.  Both have taught at the college level.

Dr. Heer and Dr. Tucker are highly trained and experienced clinicians with a wealth of experience in the evaluation of various learning and psychological disorders.  However, their practice specializes in assessments needed to obtain accommodations on standardized tests or to access acccommodations at the postsecondary level.  Our most requested evaluation is for students who have received special education services and now need updated testing in order to apply for accommodations on the SAT, ACT, AP and/or to access accommodations in college.  This would also include adults who are seeking documentation for accommodations for graduate level tests such as the GRE, LSAT, and MCAT.  We have evaluated students who have attended all the major Virginia Universities, including UVA, JMU, VA TECH, VCU, Longwood, Radford, Christopher Newport, and NVCC.  In addition, we have coordinated with the disability offices at Gettysburg College, University of Maryland, University of Delaware, WVU, Meredith College, NYU and others too numerous to mention.

Other evaluations we offer are those requested by students who are applying for Advanced Academic Placement (GT) and others who wish to have a comprehensive psychoeducational evaluation.  We also do intelligence testing which may be required for private school admission.
